After defeating Finn Harps by five goals to two on Friday night, Cork City are back in action at Turner’s Cross tomorrow night to face second-placed Monaghan United.
Speaking ahead of the game, Cork City manager Tommy Dunne told CorkCityFC.net: “We are at a point in the season where it is about winning games, and that is what we will be trying to do. We try to win every game we play in, and this will be no different. Games between ourselves and Monaghan have been tight affairs and I would expect this game to be the same. We’re looking forward to the game, we are in good form and we are scoring goals, so we will be positive and go out and look to get the win.”
Davin O’Neill, Derek O’Brien and Greg O’Halloran will all miss the tie through injury. O’Neill was substituted with a hamstring problem on Friday night, while O’Brien has suffered heavy bruising to his ankle following a challenge in the same game, and looks set to be sidelined for at least two weeks. O’Halloran is still sidelined with an Achilles injury. Both Neal Horgan (knee) and Gavin Kavanagh (back) are rated as doubtful.
