Cork City and Bluebell United will have to meet again after their Ford FAI Cup Third Round meeting finished all square at Turner’s Cross tonight.
It was an evenly matched first-half for the most part, but City took the lead in the 34th minute. Cillian Lordan’s corner from the left found the unmarked Graham Cummins and he headed home from close range for his 8th goal of the season.
But Bluebell were back on level terms two minutes before the break. Striker Darren Meade latched on to a short back-pass from City defender Dave Rogers, before taking the ball beyond goalkeeper Mark McNulty and finishing to an empty net.
City dominated the second-half and had several chances to regain the lead, with Stephen Mulcahy, Dave Warren and Davin O’Neill all going close. But the Leinster Senior League side held on for a draw, and the teams will meet again on Tuesday evening at the Carlisle Grounds in Bray.
